PlayStation Game Developers Convention 2017

Clement partnered with PlayStation for another year to design and execute the GDC mixer event for 1,000 industry guests and VIPs.

We created a 3D projection mapping display, programmed to the beat of the music. To expand on the projection aesthetic, we developed four unique "augmented reality" animations especially for the one night event.

The animations were triggered by t-shirt graphics we had printed for the party. Videobooths were set up where guests could wear the shirt and interact with the animations in real time. Guests could email or text these recorded videos as an additional digital takeaway.

PlayStation Game Developers Convention 2015

OBJECTIVE
Create an evening of light entertainment for 1000 PlayStation employees, friends and VIPs.

SOLUTION
Each year we have an opportunity to reinvent a night out for PlayStation guests at the Game Developers Convention, and each year the guest count has gotten larger.

With the successful launch and sales of the PlayStation 4 in mind, we built out a space using elements from the gaming system and its futuristic design. Guests were immersed in a digital environment, with lights and 3-D mapped projections, inspired by the glowing console.

PlayStation Game Developers Convention 2014

OBJECTIVE
For a third consecutive year in a row, Clement designed and produced the GDC mixer; this year for 1,000 guests and VIPs.

SOLUTION
With the success of the PS4, the “PlayStation Toast” event marked an evening of celebration for the brand, creating an entirely new experience in the same venue used last year.

Mirrored bars, dark furniture and silver accent pieces dressed the space. Custom light installations and marquee lights added to the glitz and glamour. A live jazz band was brought in for guest entertainment, along with PlayStation branded cigar rollers and cigar gals.

PlayStation Game Developers Convention 2013

OBJECTIVE
Clement was asked to produce an evening of light entertainment for 1000 PlayStation employees, friend and VIPs.

SOLUTION
The Game Developers Conference is always at the beginning of Spring in beautiful San Francisco. We thought it was appropriate have PlayStation kick off GDC by creating an evening focusing on Spring celebration--incorporating several Japanese Matsuri's (Festivals) - like the famous Obon (Spirit) Matsuri, Nebuta (illuminated floats and lantern) Matsuri and Sakura (Cherry Blossom) Matsuri. The venue City View at Metreon in downtown San Francisco was a blank canvas which lent itself perfectly for the transformation. We filled the space with striking visuals of authentic Japanese Matsuri that allowed guests to be transported to Japan in Springtime.

A custom projection wall served literally as a gateway into the Festival, images of a Tori Gate was projected along with cherry blossoms and Mt Fuji. Large lantern wall panels were built to display and define the space, which were complimented by market lights and hanging lanterns, providing the warm glow found at these street festivals. A local San Francisco Taiko Dojo entertained guests with an electrifying live performance. Traditional street festival cuisine, such as tako yaki, okonomiyaki and karaage were prepared in and served from booths, as guests were able to look on. Guests were also gifted with an iron branded masu (wooden sake cup), which were custom made in Japan.
